Oregon Pinot Noir Earns Fifth Consecutive Top Rating

Oregon’s Willamette Valley earned its fifth consecutive 90+ rating from major wine critics for its Pinot Noir, cementing the region’s status as a world-class producer.

The 2024 vintage showed remarkable consistency across the valley’s sub-appellations, from the cooler Dundee Hills to the warmer Eola-Amity region. Winemakers credit a dry September that allowed for unhurried harvesting and optimal fruit maturity.

Several estates reported their best yields in a decade, a welcome change after challenging conditions in previous years. The combination of quality and quantity should make these wines more accessible to consumers.

Early tastings suggest the wines display the region’s signature balance of bright acidity and silky tannins, with aromatic profiles ranging from red cherry and raspberry to more earthy, forest floor notes.

Expect bottles to hit shelves throughout 2026.
